چکیده

Abstract Introduction Apolipoprotein B containing lipoproteins are atherogenic. There is evidence that with low plasma density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels residual vascular risk might be caused by triglyceride rich such as very-low (VLDL), chylomicrons and their remnants. We investigated the relationship between VLDL-cholesterol (VLDL-C) recurrent major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), limb (MALE) all-cause mortality in a cohort of patients disease. Methods Prospective study 8057 disease from UCC-SMART study. The relation calculated VLDL-C occurrence MACE, MALE was analyzed Cox regression models. Results Patients mean age 60 ± 10 years, 74% were male, 4894 (61%) had coronary artery disease, 2445 (30%) stroke, 1425 (18%) peripheral arterial 684 (8%) an abdominal aorta aneurysm at baseline. A total 1535 571 1792 deaths observed during median follow up 8.2 years (interquartile range 4.512.2). not associated MACE or mortality. In highest quartile higher for (HR 1.49; 95%CI 1.16–1.93) compared to lowest quartile, after adjustment confounders including LDL-C lipid lowering medication. Conclusion clinically manifest confers increased MALE, but mortality, independent established factors lipid-lowering

Food Intake Pattern and Cardiovascular Risk Factors in Patients with Premature Coronary Artery Disease in Iran

Background: There is limited evidence regarding the risk factors and nutritional patterns in patients with premature coronary artery disease (PCAD). This study aims to investigate the relationship between different dietary patterns and risk factors in patients with PCAD. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on PCAD patients, including men younger than 55 years and women younger tha...

The influence of baseline risk on the relation between HbA1c and risk for new cardiovascular events and mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes and symptomatic cardiovascular disease

BACKGROUND Strict glycaemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes has proven to have microvascular benefits while the effects on CVD and mortality are less clear, especially in high risk patients. Whether strict glycaemic control would reduce the risk of future CVD or mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes and pre-existing CVD, is unknown. This study aims to evaluate whether the relation...

Extracellular vesicle markers in relation to obesity and metabolic complications in patients with manifest cardiovascular disease

BACKGROUND Alterations in extracellular vesicles (EVs), including exosomes and microparticles, contribute to cardiovascular disease. We hypothesized that obesity could favour enhanced release of EVs from adipose tissue, and thereby contribute to cardiovascular risk via obesity-induced metabolic complications. The objectives of this study were: 1) to investigate the relation between the quantity...

Polymorphisms associated with cholesterol and risk of cardiovascular events.

BACKGROUND Common single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) that are associated with blood low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol modestly affect lipid levels. We tested the hypothesis that a combination of such SNPs contributes to the risk of cardiovascular disease. METHODS We studied SNPs at nine loci in 5414 subjects from the cardiovascular cohort of the M...
